School Uniform

Our children are encouraged to take pride in their appearance and to gain a sense of identity and belonging by wearing the school uniform.

Our uniform:

  • Black jumper or cardigan - school logo preferable

  • Black/grey trousers or skirt

  • White collared formal shirt (Years 1-6)

  • White polo shirt (EYFS)

  • Black school shoes (no trainers)

  • Rivers school tie - school logo preferable

Footwear

  • Formal black school shoes. Please note trainers cannot be worn except as part of PE kit.

PE Kit:

  • Black PE top - school logo preferable

  • Black shorts or plain black tracksuit bottoms 

  • Trainers or pumps 

  • Black PE tops can be purchased through school via the parentmail app.

Footwear

  • Black pumps for indoors

  • Trainers for outdoors

Children will not be allowed to participate in outdoor activities in pumps. This is due to health and safety reasons. 

Jewellery and Make up

We do not allow children to wear jewellery in our academy. The only exception to this rule is one pair of earrings (studs only) or small ‘sleepers’ in pierced ears. We ask the children to remove these earrings on days when they have PE, to prevent them from causing injury. Under no circumstances will the swimming providers allow children to swim with earrings in. We therefore strongly advise that children do not have their ears pierced during term time. Parents are reminded that physical education is a statutory part of the academy curriculum.

Children should not come to the academy wearing make-up (including nail varnish). The wearing of watches is allowed (but these should not be of an expensive or valuable nature or novelty watches. Smart watches are also not allowed, these include any device that can access the internet, camera or telephone communications– this is for safeguarding reasons). The academy will accept no responsibility for any items of jewellery lost or damaged.

Swimming

All children must wear caps.

Girls must wear one-piece swimming costumes

Boys must wear swimming trunks and not ‘shorts’.

Earrings must not be worn at all in the pool.
